West Village is one of the most popular student accommodation in Glasgow. The flats are conveniently located so that you can walk to Glasgow International College and the University of Glasgow within minutes. With a number of supermarkets and restaurants just downstairs, West Village offers both En-suite and Studio rooms to suit a wide range of students. All rooms are fully furnished and equipped with all amenities so students can quickly settle into their new surroundings.

West Village offers a variety of living options, from En-suite Rooms with private bathrooms, which require a shared kitchen and living room; to Studio Rooms, which offer fully self-contained living spaces with bedroom, bathroom and kitchen included. All kitchens are fully equipped with cookers, fridges and microwaves, while the living rooms have a comfortable lounge space with flat-screen TVs, making it easy for students and their roommates to relax and unwind.

 

On the Ground Floor, in the communal Lounge, West Village offers a wide range of amenities for students. The quiet study room and library provide the perfect revision environment for upcoming exams. The cinema and game room will undoubtedly be favourite spots for students who like to be entertained. The state-of-the-art gym is also an excellent choice for releasing stress. Add a laundry room to handle any washing problems, and students will be well on their way to a smooth sailing at West Village.

 

Location and What's Hot? 

West Village is ideally located within 10 minutes of Glasgow City Centre. Tesco is a 4-minute walk away, and Morrisons is a 7-minute walk away. There are also several restaurants around the flats, including Tofu, Bibimbap and Eighty Eight, which serve delicious food. For a drink with friends, try Three Judges, Dukes Bar and Storm Queen.

 

In addition, an 11-minute walk east of West Village is Kelvingrove Park, one of Glasgow's oldest public parks, which sees walkers, cyclists and runners using the extensive grounds. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Kelvin Hall Open Collections and Hunterian Art Gallery give you a great insight into Glasgow's culture and history.

 

Transport

West Village is a 10-minute walk west of The University of Glasgow and Glasgow International College. The University of Strathclyde, The Academy of Music and Sound and The City of Glasgow College are 23 minutes away by subway. For travelling to other cities, Partick train station is a 9-minute walk.

 

Security & Services

West Village has 24-hour access control and surveillance to keep students safe. Security personnel are on duty 24 hours daily, and outsiders must register to enter. The maintenance team is responsible for replacing and repairing damaged equipment in the flats.

Cancellation Policy

No Visa No Pay

If you cannot get a visa to study at a UK University (either on campus or online remote study) and you can provide written evidence that your visa and university application has been refused, Accommodation Supplier will release you from your tenancy agreement and make a full refund.
Evidence must be provided within one week of notifying Accommodation Supplier that you are unable to obtain a visa.
If the Tenancy has already commenced, and you have NOT collected your keys, you will be charged for the period from the 'Tenancy Start Date' to the date you provide the evidence that you have not been granted a VISA and/or do not have a place at a UK University.
If the tenancy has started and / or you have moved into the accommodation prior to your Visa application being declined you will be responsible for the rent for the duration of the contract.

No Place No Pay

If your offer of a place at your preferred/current University/Higher Education Institution is withdrawn by the University/Higher Education Institution as a result of you not achieving their required entry grades or passing your end of year exams, you may be eligible to be released from the tenancy agreement.
You may also be eligible to be released from this agreement if you are a prospective first year undergraduate student and you choose to go to a University in a different city because you have exceeded your expected grades.
To apply to be released from this agreement in the circumstances referred to above, you will need to supply Accommodation Supplier with a copy of:
·a written rejection letter from your chosen university /college or UCAS or a screen shot of your UCAS status which confirms that the required results were not achieved; or
·a copy of the proof of acceptance of your new university by UCAS adjustment.
These document(s) must be received by us within 7 calendar days from the date your results are published or by 1st September (which ever date is the sooner). Please email the documentation to Accommodation Supplier. On receipt of the required documentation, it will be verified and, provided Accommodation Supplier are satisfied, Accommodation Supplier will cancel your agreement and refund your holding deposit in full

For bookings made between 1st October - 31st July for the forthcoming academic year commencing 1st September, you can cancel your booking in writing or by sending Accommodation Supplier an email within the 48 hours 'cooling off period' of accepting and completing your tenancy online.
·For bookings made after 1st August for the forthcoming academic year, there is no cooling off period and you cannot cancel your booking.
·For bookings made during and for the current academic year (from 1st September to 31st August), you cannot cancel your booking once you have accepted the tenancy offer (either manually or digitally online)
·Please note that once you have received your key and checked in to your accommodation you cannot cancel your booking and you will be legally bound by the terms and conditions of the accepted Tenancy Agreement and will be liable to pay all the amounts due.
·If you do need to cancel you will need to meet the requirements of our No place, No Pay policy.
·In instances where a holding deposit has been paid and the tenant fails to manually or digitally complete the booking, or declines the tenancy offer, Accommodation Supplier reserve the right to retain the holding deposit in lieu of costs incurred.
Once you have booked and completed your tenancy agreement, you will be legally bound by the terms stipulated in the agreement.

CANCELLATION POLICY

After cooling-off period has expired
If the 48-hour cooling-off period has expired there are some scenarios where you may be able to cancel your booking if you meet the necessary requirements. These are:

No Place, No Pay Policy

SUMMER LET CANCELLATIONS
You can cancel your booking in writing or by sending Accommodation Supplier an email within the 48 hours 'cooling off period' of accepting and completing your tenancy online, provided you have not collected the keys to your accommodation.. However, after the cooling off period you may be able to cancel if:
·You request to cancel two weeks before the summer tenancy start date
·And you provide evidence to support the cancellation e.g. no summer course, unable to meet conditions of offer
If you cannot provide evidence for cancellation:
·Accommodation Supplier reserve the right to retain the holding deposit in lieu of costs
·In the case where the summer let is cancelled by Accommodation Supplier the holding deposit will be refunded

RELET POLICY
Please note you cannot relet your room once you have confirmed and accepted your Tenancy Agreement, this is a legally binding contract and it is your responsibility to adhere to the terms for the full duration of the contract.

Subletting
Please note that your Tenancy agreement or contract does not permit you to sublet your room. Accommodation Supplier will only honour Tenancy agreements directly issued by them to the Tenant. Any persons residing in our accommodation who does not have a valid agreement issued to them directly by Accommodation Supplier will be asked to leave.

Reselling
Accommodation Supplier do not permit the reselling of rooms.
Accommodation Supplier reserve the right to ask for a copy of passport and/or proof of student status information.
Accommodation Supplier want all our customers to be confident that they have booked a Accommodation Supplier's room at Accommodation Supplier's published rates. Booking one or more rooms with the intention of selling them to a student to profiteer is not permitted. Accommodation Supplier will take measures to ensure all Accommodation Supplier's bookings at the time of sale are genuine. Where Accommodation Supplier have evidence that the booking has been made with the sole purpose of reselling/reletting for a fee the booking will be cancelled and accommodation reservation withdrawn and the holding deposit will be retained.

When is the due date for rent payment?

The payment deadline for booking 44-week and 51-week regular course contracts is around August 2022. For detailed payment time and corresponding amount, please refer to your contract content

How to pay rent?

The apartment supports payment by guarantee card deduction or bank transfer. 1. Automatic deduction of the guarantee card On the payment deadline, the apartment will automatically deduct the payment from the guarantee card you bound at that time according to the payment plan. Please ensure that the guarantee card has enough credit to provide rent deduction on the payment date, and ensure that the bank that issued your guarantee card supports this payment. 2. Payment by bank wire transfer If your guarantee card cannot be used for rent payment, please make bank transfer in advance. Before paying, please communicate with the bank you plan to use in advance, determine what materials you need to bring for wire transfer, and then bring the corresponding materials. And please ask the bank to assist in calculating the corresponding transfer fee to ensure that the rent can be credited in full. Please strictly use the bank information sent to you by the apartment for payment (if you have not received the apartment’s bank account by email, and you plan to pay the rent by wire transfer, please send it to the apartment email in advance to obtain the official payment information), and add the corresponding Postscript information, please be careful not to trust the collection account provided by any third party.
