Our whānau houses are for students who want to live in a home environment that supports Māori language and culture.

Whānau houses offer self-catered accommodation for Victoria University students with a knowledge of tikanga Māori and te reo.

You’ll be encouraged to participate in activities at Te Herenga Waka Marae, and to make a committment to the whānau of the marae.

There are three whānau houses next door to each other on Fairlie Terrace. It’s about ten minutes’ walk to the Kelburn campus and ten minutes to the city.

Room rates include the cost of electricity, internet, bedding, laundry, heating, water and a communal telephone for local calls.

Your house will be fully furnished and self-contained.
