Petrie Terrace is an inner suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, situated 2.1 kilometers (1.3 miles) west of the Brisbane General Post Office, making it a convenient location with close proximity to the city center. The suburb is bordered by Hale Street to the west, Countess Street to the east, Musgrave Road to the north, and Milton Road and Upper Roma Street to the south.

 

The suburb is named after the road of the same name, which honors the pioneer Petrie family. Historical landmarks include the Petrie Terrace Baptist Church, which dates back to 1864, and the Lord Alfred Hotel (now known as The Hotel LA), opened in 1870. The area also features the Baroona Hall, constructed between 1883 and 1884, and the Brisbane Arts Theatre, which has been operating since 1956. Additionally, Petrie Terrace is home to several heritage-listed sites, reflecting its rich history.
