Australian universities are getting stronger every year! Last year was an excellent year for Australian students! Whether it was QS, Thames or Softech, we made massive progress in university and subject rankings! And with the new year and semester halfway through, here comes the latest wave of university rankings! The first of this year’s heavyweight rankings is the just-released 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject!
The rankings provide an independent comparative analysis of over 16,400 separate university programmes.
This year, the scope of the ranking has been further expanded to include 1,559 institutions in 95 countries or regions worldwide.
Subjects are divided into five categories: Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Management.
Top 10 Australian Universities in QS Rankings 2024
Musicology is on the list for the first time this year.
It’s great that Australian universities have done exceptionally well in the latest QS subject rankings this year and have even made history!
The University of Melbourne is ranked in the world’s Top 100 in 53 subjects, making it the university with the most Top 100 subjects in the world!
Last year, the University of Melbourne beat out some strong schools to take 14th place in the QS, and everyone joked with joy and confusion that they were not charging “Q coins”.
The University of Sydney also did quite well! A total of 52 disciplines were ranked in the Top 100, which is only one less than the University of Melbourne in the world. How did our university do in this first heavyweight list this year? Let’s take a look!
