After discussing it with friends, I found that this is the most suitable location near the school. Within 5–10 minutes, you can reach nearby Chinese supermarkets and other local supermarkets, as well as the subway and train stations, making shopping and daily life very convenient. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the main school building and other classrooms (btw, if you have many classes at the Faculty of Education, you should take that into consideration—it takes 30 minutes to walk there, but there is a subway right outside that takes you there in about ten minutes). Let’s talk about the downsides. There is no range hood here, so after cooking anything with a strong smell, you’ll definitely end up smelling like it. I live in an en-suite room facing west. Because the window can’t be opened wide and there is no opposite window for cross-ventilation, the ventilation is very poor. Summer can be quite tough; in the evening, the outdoor temperature has actually dropped, but the indoor temperature stays very high (this is what I dislike the most). However, summer here lasts less than a month, so it’s still completely acceptable. Oh, and I should add that the internet speed is really terrible. Overall, West Village is pretty good. The front desk handles packages in a very standardized way, and when you report a problem, they can usually come to fix it the same day (on weekdays). The staff are all quite friendly, and you need to swipe your card to enter and exit, both inside and outside, so basic safety is still guaranteed.

The location is very good, with both Lidl and Morrison supermarkets nearby, and Sainsbury's is also close by, not far from Adam Smith Business School. The front desk is very nice, very helpful, and there are Chinese staff. However, the facilities are quite old, and there is no range hood. Additionally, the heating is constant, and in summer it cannot be turned off; the heating is only timed to be on, so during the coldest part of winter, it may still be cold. Garbage collection is sometimes not timely, and garbage water leaks. Repairs are very quick and timely, and picking up parcels is also quite convenient. Overall, it is a relatively recommended apartment.

During my master’s studies at the University of Glasgow, I chose the Gold Studio room type at West Village, and the overall living experience was excellent. Here are my honest thoughts: Advantages: Unbeatable location: The apartment is very close to the University of Glasgow, making it easy to walk to class every day and saving a lot of commuting time. Supermarkets, restaurants, and daily amenities are all available nearby, which is very convenient. High-quality private kitchen: As someone who enjoys cooking, the private kitchen in the room is definitely the biggest plus. Whether I’m buying good-quality beef to cook a steak or preparing daily fitness meals, the countertop space and facilities are more than sufficient. I no longer have to deal with the hassle of sharing a kitchen with others. Spacious room with efficient use of space: The Gold Studio is very spacious. The large desk is great for researching and writing papers, and there is even enough room to do some basic daily strength training and stretching. Excellent privacy: With a private bathroom and living area, there is no need to worry about conflicts in daily habits. The soundproofing is also good, so whether I’m focusing on studying or relaxing with games on the weekend, I won’t be disturbed.

To be honest, Nishimura's cabinet is truly impressive, very good, I really like the arrangement of the cabinet! There are still a lot of storage costs that need to be purchased. The refrigerator and the shower head in the bathroom had issues and were repaired in a timely manner.

The dormitory is in a great location, with several supermarkets nearby, and it’s a 15-minute walk to the school. In terms of facilities, the five-person room is a bit small, the lighting is very dim, and the light switch is far from the bed. The soundproofing isn’t very good, so you can hear roommates making phone calls. There is no range hood in the kitchen, and all the kitchen lights and the stove are backlit, making everything look dark while cooking. The dormitory Wi-Fi speed is decent and can directly access Chinese websites.

The location is nice, and the staff attitude is very good. The only downside is that the facilities are too old and the kitchen does not have a range hood. Also, the prices are relatively high. However, overall, it is still worth booking this year.

The Xicun Apartment is well-located, with supermarkets nearby, making daily shopping very convenient. The biggest advantage is its proximity to schools. However, the soundproofing of the apartment is poor, and noise from neighbors is quite noticeable. The facilities inside are somewhat outdated, but the living experience is okay.

Facilities: They’re okay and quite new, but there’s no range hood in the kitchen. The common areas are cleaned weekly. Sometimes the heating doesn’t work. There’s no showerhead. Internet speed: Very fast, but sometimes it suddenly gets a bit unstable. Soundproofing: The windows have pretty good sound insulation, but the rooms are close together, so people can hear you if you talk loudly. Hygiene: The carpeted floor is hard to clean, and the apartment’s vacuum cleaner has an odor. Location: It’s very close to the supermarket, but classes are held in different colleges on campus, so sometimes you have to walk quite far, especially to the Faculty of Education.

There wasn’t much wrong with the apartment in West Village, but uhomes.com dropped the price by £100 per week within a year, the consultants kept changing, and I couldn’t get either the cashback or the refund for canceling the lease. When they wanted me to pay, they practically begged me; after I paid, the service was extremely poor.

I lived in this apartment for a full year, and the overall experience was very good. The room had excellent natural light and ventilation, and the environment was quiet and safe. There were supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and the train station was just a few minutes’ walk away, making daily commuting and everyday life especially convenient. The staff were also friendly and easy to communicate with, and maintenance requests were handled promptly. It was a very comfortable rental experience.

All the roommates are Chinese girls, and the comfort level is pretty good. There is plenty of hot water, and the internet speed is also good. The front desk service is great, and maintenance requests are handled very quickly! But if you don’t handle heat well, don’t choose a south-facing room!

The sunlight on the 6th floor is great, the air is good, and the heating is sufficient. The only downside is the sound insulation is not very good, and there is no smoke extractor, so it can be a bit smoky after cooking. Other aspects are particularly good, package delivery and mail collection are very convenient, and nearby there is Lidl and Morrison, with the subway station and train station very close. There are also many Chinese restaurants in the vicinity. It is not far from the school and is relatively bustling, even in the evening it feels quite safe.

The entire renting process went very smoothly, with professional, patient, and efficient agency services. From consultation, house viewing to signing the contract, each step was explained very clearly, and responses to messages were timely. Any problems encountered were resolved quickly. The arrangements before moving in were also very well done, making it very worry-free. It is very friendly for students renting apartments for the first time, and the overall experience is great and worth recommending!

Without a cool air conditioner, the window can only be cracked open a little, and the room feels a bit stuffy, but it won’t matter as it’ll cool down soon. The space for placing things in the bathroom is small, and the mattress is covered with a plastic-like layer that makes a rustling sound, but everything else is quite good.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The room was fully equipped, the environment was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, so my rest at night was hardly affected. The internet speed was fast and stable, making it very convenient for studying and browsing online. My roommates were all very nice, and we got along very well. The common areas were also kept quite clean, and the cleaning staff were diligent and responsible. The front desk staff had a great attitude, and when there were any issues, communication and handling were relatively prompt. The service was excellent. During my stay, I felt very safe and comfortable overall. I was very satisfied with the room conditions, internet, cleanliness, and staff service. It is a very good place to live, and if I have the opportunity in the future, I would be willing to stay here again. I would also recommend it to other students.

Cons: The ensuite carpet is dirty and has a bit of a smell; the gym is very small; there’s no range hood, but at least the smoke alarm won’t go off; it’s too hot in summer and not very well ventilated; there is heating in winter, but it’s just average; the room is a bit small; the lighting in the room is average, so you need to buy your own desk lamp; soundproofing isn’t great; the elevator sometimes has a bad smell (decide for yourself whether you can accept it). Pros: If you’re booking a studio, I feel choosing the more expensive West Village option is more suitable than Vita. I went to check it out, and it was pretty good; it’s very convenient for going to the supermarket, train station, and school, with good transport links; maintenance requests are handled quite quickly (widely acknowledged); Building 5 has great natural light, so try to choose a higher floor; there is a recreation room where you can play pool and video games; it’s much better than Ts and Dm. Overall, if I had to choose again, I would probably still choose West Village. The location is really good, and the price has even gone down this year. I’ve marked the approximate location on the map.
