Kelvin Court is a cosy student accommodation in Glasgow, located just west of the city centre. Although not close to the business district, plenty of amenities are around, including supermarkets, restaurants and bars, making it ideal for students. This Glasgow student apartment offers the usual en-suite rooms and luxury one-bedroom apartments, so students are free to choose according to their budgets. The best thing about this student housing is that it is close to the University of Glasgow, a 10-minute walk away. Students can also take the transport links to Glasgow Caledonian University and Glasgow School of Art.

 

Features

Kelvin Court Glasgow offers 6 types of En-suite rooms and 1 type of one-bedroom apartment. If students choose the En-suite, they will have to share a kitchen with 2-5 people equipped with a fridge, microwave, oven, cooker, hood, etc. The En-suite rooms have private bathrooms to protect students' privacy and hygiene. In contrast, one-bedroom apartments offer a more comfortable and spacious living space. Each bedroom in here has an inside bathroom with a desk, wardrobe, curtains, dressing mirror, internet connection, etc. There is a large storage area under the bed. There is ample storage space under the bed for luggage.

 

Unite students Kelvin Court has study rooms, a games room, an outdoor courtyard, a free WIFI-covered whole area, and regular social events and support services such as academic lectures, potluck dinners, trips and personal development sessions to help students integrate into campus life and the community. The laundry room allows students to study without worrying about washing tasks, and Glasgow student accommodation is equipped with a bike shed to protect students' property.

Kelvin Court student flat is close to the University of Glasgow and an 8-minute walk to the campus. Alternatively, students can walk to Opp Blantyre Street bus stop in 4 minutes and take the Baillieston 2 to Glasgow city centre in 17 minutes. And Glasgow Caledonian University and Glasgow School of Art are a 17-minute bus ride from here. Travelling to the University of Strathclyde takes 25 minutes by bus. Students can walk 15 minutes to the Exhibition Centre train station if they need to travel to other cities.

Kelvin Court student apartment has a 24-hour security and surveillance system, access control and free property insurance to ensure the safety of students and their property. It also offers free fortnightly cleaning of communal areas should students require maintenance services, which can be requested on the Residence App.

Cancellation Policy

No Visa No Pay

No Visa No Pay (NVNP)
a.If the student who has completed their booking has their visa application rejected, the student can provide evidence of the refusal and the booking will get cancelled with no liability.
b.For the evidence at 7(a) above to be valid it must:
i.be submitted within 7 days of the student receiving it;
ii.include the student's name and the date at which it was received;
iii.be received prior to 31 August of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in August or September;
iv.be received prior to 15 January of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in December or January.
c.Students can only cancel under 7(a) above, and under the NVNP policy, if they have applied for a visa and can evidence this. Students who haven't got a visa because they haven't applied for one are not eligible for the NVNP cancellation policy.

No Place No Pay

No Place No Pay (NPNP)
a.If the student who has completed their booking for a room is not accepted at a university in the city where they have booked a room with us, the student is able to cancel their room outside of the cooling-off period without the need for a replacement tenant provided they are able to provide evidence that they have not met the requirements for their offer or have been rejected by the university for some other reason.
b.For the evidence at 6(a) above to be valid it must:
i.be submitted within 7 days of the student receiving it;
ii.include the student's name and the date at which it was received;
iii.be received prior to 31 August of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in August or September;
iv.be received prior to 15 January of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in December or January.
c.We reserve the right to check with the university if the evidence is genuine or fake. Providing fake / photoshopped documents is forgery and is an offense punishable by law in the UK.

Refund Guarantees Time Limit

3 days to accept the offer+ 7 days cooling-off period
Once a booking is processed, the student has 3 days to accept the offer. It means for the student and the guarantor to accept the contract and pay the £250 advance rent payment. (For bookings in England only. No Advance Rent Payment is required for bookings in Scotland).

Once these steps are done, the booking is completed.
If one of the step is not completed within these 3 days, the offer will expire.
If the student still wants a room, we can re-process a booking, but we cannot guarantee that the same room or the same price will be available.
Once the booking is completed, the student has another 7 days to change their mind and cancel their booking without any reasons. This is called the cooling-off period.

Details

Making a Booking
Once a booking is processed, the student has 3 days to accept the offer. It means for the student and the guarantor to accept the contract and pay the £250 advance rent payment. (For bookings in England only. No Advance Rent Payment is required for bookings in Scotland).

International cancellation provisions
These additional cancellation provisions apply for any individual making a booking outside of the United Kingdom.
1.Cooling Off Period – the provisions for the Cooling Off Period set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply;
2.After the Cooling Off Period - Once the Cooling Off Period has expired the Tenant remains liable for the rent for the whole length of the tenancy unless they want to cancel with one of these 3 conditions:
-No Place No Pay: the provisions for No Place No Pay set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply, save that this option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
-No Visa No Pay:if the student doesn’t get their visa to come and study in the UK, the student must send us the visa application rejection letter within 7 days of receiving it. On receipt of the required documentation, it will be verified and, provided we are satisfied, we will cancel your Tenancy Agreement and refund any deposit or advance rent paid in full. This option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
-No ATAS certificate, No Pay: Some international students coming to the UK to study in very specific fields need to apply for an ATAS certificate. (Academic Technology Approval Scheme). If a student’s ATAS certificate application is rejected the student must send us the ATAS certificate application rejection letter within 7 days of receiving it. On receipt of the required documentation, it will be verified and, provided we are satisfied, we will cancel your Tenancy Agreement and refund any deposit or advance rent paid in full. This option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
The cancellation requests along with the proof documents must be sent by the student, from the email address they have registered their account with Unite Students and must be sent to internationalcancellations@unitestudents.com.
If an agent is involved the evidence must be sent to the agent and then forwarded on to internationalcancellations@unitestudents.com.
3. Replacement Tenants - the provisions for the Cooling Off Period set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply. Please note the point that Unite Students is under no obligation to enter into a Tenancy Agreement with any replacement Tenant that is suggested under this provision.
Passed the 31st August, the No Place No Pay and No Visa No Pay do not apply.
The student remains liable for the rent unless they find a replacement Tenant.
