Canvas Glasgow is located in the heart of the city centre, close to major shopping centres, 4 minute walk to Glasgow Caledonian, and 10 minutes to the University of Strathclyde. The University of Glasgow is an 18-minute bus ride away, while the Academy of Music & Sound is a 17-minute bus ride south. For travelling to other cities, Glasgow Queen Street is a 13-minute walk.

Canvas Glasgow is equipped with a surveillance system in the flats in order to ensure a safe living environment for the students. There is also 24-hour security at the reception desk, and outsiders must register before entering.
