What should I do if I want to terminate the agreement and move out?

If you wish to terminate your lease, you must notify the advisor or the apartment in writing, and you must fill out the apartment's "Sublease Form." You will remain responsible for the rent until a new tenant is found or until the lease term expires, whichever comes first. We cannot guarantee that other tenants will be found, as this obviously becomes increasingly difficult as the academic year progresses. Please note that you will also need to pay all management fees incurred during the reallocation of the contract. Please refer to the apartment's sublease terms.

How to pay the deposit? Will it be refunded?

The deposit is paid to the apartment when you book the room, and it will be deducted from the rent. It is non-refundable.

Do you want to send your packages there before you move in? I can ask the apartment if they can temporarily accept packages for you, but I don't recommend sending them in advance as they might get lost. If possible, it's best to send them after you move in.

What is the deposit for np, and why are there both rounded and non-rounded amounts?

You need to pay a total of £101 when making the np reservation, of which £100 is a deposit that will be deducted from the rent later, and £1 is a card binding fee, which is generally refundable. If we switch to a different card for payment later, there's no need to worry; you can change the card at any time.

What materials are required for the reservation?

Booking requires the student’s basic information along with their passport and university offer. If you have the passport and offer, you can communicate with the advisor to provide the additional materials later.

How many bedrooms does this apartment have?

There are 4-6 person rooms available. Please contact the consultant to inquire about the latest information regarding available rooms.

How far is this apartment from the school?

It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the Morey campus, or 15 minutes by car.

Does this apartment have a washing machine?

The room is not fitted with a washing machine, but students can use the laundry room in the apartment.

How is the soundproofing in the apartment?

Most buildings in the UK have poor sound insulation, but apartments are much better than school dormitories.

Is the internet speed in the apartment fast?

Watching videos, checking information, and other daily activities are sufficient. If you have a need for gaming, you can also purchase an additional speed package.

What is included in the maintenance scope?

If it is natural wear and tear, such as problems with appliances in the room or needing to replace light bulbs, these can be covered by the apartment warranty. However, if it is damage caused by human actions, like flooding the room, it will need to be repaired by yourself.

Is there a lack of heating?

Heating issues are a common problem in UK student accommodations. Unlike in China, where heating allows you to wear short sleeves indoors, the temperature here is usually not too high, but it doesn't get extremely cold either. Everyone perceives temperature differently. Students who are more sensitive to the cold can buy a thicker duvet or ask the front desk if they can get a small portable heater.

I am very satisfied with my stay experience at Downing New Park! The apartment is located on Bothwell Street, with convenient transportation and complete living facilities around, making it very suitable for studying abroad. I stayed in a Classic Ensuite room type, which was clean and tidy, had good lighting, and decent privacy. The shared kitchen and living area are spacious, and I get along well with my roommates. From September 5, 2026, to August 28, 2028, the entire residence process was very smooth, and the apartment management team responded promptly, resolving any minor issues quickly. Overall, it was a very pleasant renting experience! If I had to mention a possible area for improvement, it would be to hope for a slightly higher frequency of cleaning in the common areas, but overall, it has been great! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very satisfied and would recommend it to other students!
