This is an Italian Upper West Side restaurant with a heart. The restaurant has set up its own farm and turns the leftovers in the restaurant into organic fertilizer. For the main course, we recommend the Fettucine Ai Funghi (Mushroom Pasta). The Mushroom Pasta is a favorite among vegetarians. The mushrooms are creamy and delicious. The waiter will ask you if you want truffle with your order. I think the mushroom flavor would be stronger if you add truffle. The restaurant’s exclusive Italian salad is called “Insalata Pisticci”. It is made with baby spinach as the base, crispy garlic potato, pancetta, and seafood pasta.

3. Sushi Yasaka

This is one of those Japanese Upper West Side restaurants that you will definitely treat your friends to whenever they come over. Una Don, the main dish, is soft and the eel meat is soft but not too fatty. The amount of rice is generous and there is a special eel rice for two. I have also eaten eel rice in other restaurants such as Stove House near Times Square. Personally, I don’t think it’s as good as the one near Columbia University. In addition to eel rice, this restaurant is also very good barbecue skewers. Many students often go there for midnight snacks, so this restaurant is known as Columbia University‘s late-night cafeteria. The restaurant queue is very serious during meal times, especially on weekends, be sure to go in advance.
