By Judy
University of Edinburgh Clearing

The final opportunity to apply for undergraduate programs in the UK for 2025 is here! The UCAS application system for undergraduate programs in the UK opened its Clearing (supplementary admission) phase on July 5, 2025, with the application period running from July 5 to October 20. As one of the UK’s top universities, the University of Edinburgh Clearing 2025 is offering over 300 program spots this year. Whether you missed the initial application round, have slightly disappointing grades, or are aiming for a higher-tier institution, this is your last chance to enrol in this renowned Scottish university this year—don’t miss out!

What is UCAS Clearing?

UCAS Clearing is a recruitment mechanism used by UK universities to fill course vacancies. When undergraduate courses still have remaining spots after regular admissions, universities will conduct supplementary admissions through UCAS Clearing. The UCAS Clearing 2025 begins on July 5, 2025 and ends on October 20, 2025. UCAS serves as the UK’s university application system, and all applications for undergraduate courses at UK universities must be submitted through UCAS. If you have not received a university offer or missed the application deadline, UCAS Clearing provides you with an opportunity for supplementary admissions. UCAS Clearing does not mean choosing programs that others have rejected. Many top universities or top programs may participate in the supplementary admission process due to reasons such as admission policies. Approximately 10% of students each year obtain offers through the supplementary admission process.

Why Consider University of Edinburgh Clearing?

The University of Edinburgh, located in Scotland’s capital city, was founded in 1583 and is the sixth-oldest university in the English-speaking world. As a founding member of the prestigious Russell Group, clearing opportunities here are scarce and valuable.

  • Prestigious reputation: The University of Edinburgh is globally renowned for its excellence in medicine, law, engineering, and the humanities and social sciences. Its degrees are highly respected, giving graduates a strong edge in both the job market and further academic pursuits.
  • Wide range of courses: With over 300 programmes available through Clearing, students can choose from a broad spectrum of disciplines—from popular subjects like Computer Science, Business, and Psychology, to unique options such as Scottish History and Renewable Energy Engineering—catering to a wide variety of academic interests.
  • Flexible entry requirements: Entry criteria during the Clearing period may be slightly more relaxed compared to the main application cycle, making it an excellent opportunity for students who narrowly missed the standard offers to secure a place at a world-class institution.
