Cambrian Point is a cheap student apartment in Cardiff offering affordable and comfortable En-suite student rooms. All rooms are equipped with basic furniture and living appliances so all students can quickly move into their flats. In addition, this flat is perfect for students who enjoy the natural environment, with large areas of Blackweir Fields surrounding them, allowing them to experience the beautiful natural surroundings. Although it is not close to a commercial area, there are plenty of supermarket chains and restaurants in the surrounding area, and students have quick access to Cardiff University and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama via public transport.

 

Features

Cambrian Point Cardiff student flats have 632 beds, and two types of En-suite rooms are available. Bedrooms include private bathrooms for hygiene and privacy. Each en-suite contains 4 to 6 bedrooms, while the communal kitchen and living room areas provide ample space for socialising. All rooms at the apartment are tastefully decorated and come with basic furnishings, including tables, chairs, double beds, wardrobes, storage shelves and more. With appliances such as an oven, hob, fridge and microwave provided in the kitchen area and a TV and sofa in the living room, it offers students a quick move-in.

 

Cambrian Point understands that the living and learning environment is critical to student success. As a result, the student apartment has been designed with comfort and convenience in mind. Inside amenities include a fully-equipped laundry room, making it easy for students to handle their weekly chores. If anyone needs a quick snack or a refreshing drink, vending machines are at your service 24/7. The flat offers secure bike storage facilities for the eco-conscious fitness enthusiast to keep the property safe and secure. When students need to read a book, the peaceful and well-resourced study rooms provide the perfect sanctuary. These facilities are designed to enrich students' daily lives and allow them to focus on the things that matter - academics and personal growth.

 

Location and What's Hot? 

Cambrian Point is located on the north side of Cardiff city centre and is surrounded by many amenities. Supermarket chains such as Tesco, Co-op, Lidl, Sainsbury's, and many more are within a 15-minute walk from here, offering a wide range of daily necessities. At the same time, Cardiff Korean & Japanese Food provides students with Asian-inspired goods. For those who prefer to avoid cooking, there's a Mexican restaurant downstairs at Cambrian Point. Sunnys Street Food, Brother Thai, and YukiYan Sushi are all within a 15-minute walk and offer a variety of flavours. And before the day is over, head to bars like Blackweir Tavern, Bar 105 and The Flora to get rid of the stress.

 

Cambrian Point is situated in a vibrant and exciting neighbourhood where a wealth of activities await students. The Maindy Centre has a wide range of recreational and engagement facilities. Residents will regard it for its exciting programme and activities catering to various ages and interests. Not far from flat is The Great Hall. This is a magnificent venue. Here, concerts, exhibitions and performances are among the many cultural activities that give students a taste of the city's artistic energy. For fitness enthusiasts, Callisthenics Public Park offers an outdoor fitness area where students can get fit and active in the lap of nature.

 

Transport

From Cambrian Point, it is a 6-minute walk to Maindy Stadium bus stop, a 12-minute bus ride to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and a 15-minute ride to Cardiff UniversityCardiff Metropolitan University is a little further away, a 23-minute bus ride away. When travelling to other cities, Cathays train station is a 15-minute walk away.

Unite Student Cambrian Point is equipped with an electronic door entry system, CCTV video surveillance and barrier-free access. A staff team is on call 24 hours daily to help students with problems. Cancellation Policy

No Visa No Pay

No Visa No Pay (NVNP)
a.If the student who has completed their booking has their visa application rejected, the student can provide evidence of the refusal and the booking will get cancelled with no liability.
b.For the evidence at 7(a) above to be valid it must:
i.be submitted within 7 days of the student receiving it;
ii.include the student's name and the date at which it was received;
iii.be received prior to 31 August of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in August or September;
iv.be received prior to 15 January of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in December or January.
c.Students can only cancel under 7(a) above, and under the NVNP policy, if they have applied for a visa and can evidence this. Students who haven't got a visa because they haven't applied for one are not eligible for the NVNP cancellation policy.

No Place No Pay

No Place No Pay (NPNP)
a.If the student who has completed their booking for a room is not accepted at a university in the city where they have booked a room with us, the student is able to cancel their room outside of the cooling-off period without the need for a replacement tenant provided they are able to provide evidence that they have not met the requirements for their offer or have been rejected by the university for some other reason.
b.For the evidence at 6(a) above to be valid it must:
i.be submitted within 7 days of the student receiving it;
ii.include the student's name and the date at which it was received;
iii.be received prior to 31 August of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in August or September;
iv.be received prior to 15 January of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in December or January.
c.We reserve the right to check with the university if the evidence is genuine or fake. Providing fake / photoshopped documents is forgery and is an offense punishable by law in the UK.

Refund Guarantees Time Limit

3 days to accept the offer+ 7 days cooling-off period
Once a booking is processed, the student has 3 days to accept the offer. It means for the student and the guarantor to accept the contract and pay the £250 advance rent payment. (For bookings in England only. No Advance Rent Payment is required for bookings in Scotland).

Once these steps are done, the booking is completed.
If one of the step is not completed within these 3 days, the offer will expire.
If the student still wants a room, we can re-process a booking, but we cannot guarantee that the same room or the same price will be available.
Once the booking is completed, the student has another 7 days to change their mind and cancel their booking without any reasons. This is called the cooling-off period.

Details

Making a Booking
Once a booking is processed, the student has 3 days to accept the offer. It means for the student and the guarantor to accept the contract and pay the £250 advance rent payment. (For bookings in England only. No Advance Rent Payment is required for bookings in Scotland).

International cancellation provisions
These additional cancellation provisions apply for any individual making a booking outside of the United Kingdom.
1.Cooling Off Period – the provisions for the Cooling Off Period set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply;
2.After the Cooling Off Period - Once the Cooling Off Period has expired the Tenant remains liable for the rent for the whole length of the tenancy unless they want to cancel with one of these 3 conditions:
-No Place No Pay: the provisions for No Place No Pay set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply, save that this option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
-No Visa No Pay:if the student doesn’t get their visa to come and study in the UK, the student must send us the visa application rejection letter within 7 days of receiving it. On receipt of the required documentation, it will be verified and, provided we are satisfied, we will cancel your Tenancy Agreement and refund any deposit or advance rent paid in full. This option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
-No ATAS certificate, No Pay: Some international students coming to the UK to study in very specific fields need to apply for an ATAS certificate. (Academic Technology Approval Scheme). If a student’s ATAS certificate application is rejected the student must send us the ATAS certificate application rejection letter within 7 days of receiving it. On receipt of the required documentation, it will be verified and, provided we are satisfied, we will cancel your Tenancy Agreement and refund any deposit or advance rent paid in full. This option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
The cancellation requests along with the proof documents must be sent by the student, from the email address they have registered their account with Unite Students and must be sent to internationalcancellations@unitestudents.com.
If an agent is involved the evidence must be sent to the agent and then forwarded on to internationalcancellations@unitestudents.com.
3. Replacement Tenants - the provisions for the Cooling Off Period set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply. Please note the point that Unite Students is under no obligation to enter into a Tenancy Agreement with any replacement Tenant that is suggested under this provision.
Passed the 31st August, the No Place No Pay and No Visa No Pay do not apply.
The student remains liable for the rent unless they find a replacement Tenant.
