1. Guildford Castle

Guildford Castle started life as a Norman fortress and was fortified several times over the next 300 years. You can enter the castle to see a model depicting its heyday as a royal palace in the early 14th century and climb to the top of the great tower for panoramic views across Guildford and Surrey.
