What is law Clearing?
Law Clearing refers to the admission process for candidates who are not admitted in the first round of admission for the law major. Its main purpose is to fill enrollment vacancies, ensure that the enrollment places of law majors are fully utilized, and at the same time, give the candidates who have been rejected another opportunity to apply and increase their likelihood of admission.
The clearing process is generally launched on the day A-level results are published. After Clearing, you need to find Cleaing accommodation. The emergence of this stage is also because after the formal channel is closed, some colleges still have vacant seats, hoping to issue offers to many potential applicants through Clearing.
Clearing 2024 is open from 5 July and closes on 21 October 2024. If you want to apply for your ideal school and course through Clearing, now is the time. Here are two very important terms in UK undergraduate applications.
UCAS
The full name of UCAS is Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. It is a public service organization that provides admissions services to all universities in the United Kingdom. Unlike in other countries, if you want to apply for undergraduate degree courses in British universities, all students basically need to operate through the UCAS system.
A-Level
A-Level, also known as General Certificate of Education Advanced Level, is the British national curriculum system. It is the British General Certificate of Secondary Education advanced level course, and also the university entrance examination course for British students. A-Level exams are held in May-June and October-November each year, with results usually published in August and February of next year.
Is there Clearing for law?
Yes. Many schools offer courses in law that you can apply for through Clearing, such as University of Glasgow, University of Birmingham, University of Sheffield, University of Southampton and so on. If you have not applied before or have been rejected by a school, you can apply for a law course with a place available at Clearing. Just make sure you meet their requirements and submit your application while there is still vacancy, and you can continue to pursue your law dreams.

How to apply law schools through clearing?
The approach to applying for law courses in Clearing is basically the same as for other courses. You need to find the Clearing law courses you want to participate in, and then apply in different steps according to the different situations listed below.

- Register on the UCAS website.
- Submit an application.
- Find your Clearing number on UCAS homepage.
- Find a law course you’d like to apply to.
- Get in touch with the university, and make sure you have a verbal offer.
- Adding a Clearing choice in UCAS.
- Log in to UCAS to confirm that you’re formally accepting the offer.
