4. Proximity to Local Amenities: Many off-campus properties are within walking distance of town centre amenities such as large supermarkets, cafes and cinemas, and are more easily accessible by public transport.
5. Building a “Real‑World” Social Network: living with local residents not only allows you to live beyond the student population, but also makes it easier to find off-campus part-time work opportunities and enrich your social network.
6. Customizing Your Living Environment: In a private rental, you can decorate and furnish your room according to your own preferences, cook your favourite meals whenever you like and create a more comfortable ‘home’ atmosphere.
7. Long‑Term Housing Experience: The experience of signing a lease, communicating with the landlord and renewing the lease on your own gives you valuable practical experience when looking for an apartment or a job after graduation.
