Green Wood Court is a fantastic student accommodation in Southampton, located on the north side of the city, close to the University of Southampton's Highfield campus, with all amenities and transport links, and a U2 campus bus service running every 30 minutes. After school, students can relax and enjoy watching TV with friends in the communal lounge. Green Wood Court is the perfect place to live in Southampton, with a wide range of exciting activities during the academic year.

 

Features

Green Wood Court is refurbished and open for occupancy from September 2018, with 233 beds and up to 3 floors. The apartments are mostly Non En-suite, with shared bathrooms and kitchens. The Studio rooms are spacious at 21 sqm and have their own bathrooms and kitchens. Each room is fully furnished and has plenty of storage space. There is also a spacious lounge area where students can enjoy free TV in the communal lounge area or have a pool game with friends at their leisure.

 

Location and What's Hot?

Green Wood Court is located in the centre of town, close to the suburbs, with several parks and beautiful surroundings, Hardmoor Sports Ground and Southampton University Sports Ground with bowling, rugby, football clubs, and archery, where you can meet more foreign friends. The flat is next to Co-op Food, an 8-minute walk to Burgess Road, where you can find Burger King, McDonald's, Uni Kebab, Melo Persian Restaurant, Tesco, Sainsbury's Local, and a variety of restaurants.

 

Transport

Green Wood Court is close to Poppy Road bus stop, where you can take U1C and U2C buses to downtown in half an hour and Swaythling train station in 10 minutes by bus. To the University of Southampton is only a 17 minute walk away. It needs 15 minutes walk from the University of Southampton's Highfield Campus. It's about 22 minutes by bus from the Avenue campus of Southampton University (7min by bus 15min by foot). And 35min by bus from Southampton Solent University (17min by bus, 18min walk). Besides, About 40min by bus from Southampton City College (17min by bus, 23min on foot).

Green Wood Court is secured with a security door system. The safety of our students is our top priority, which is why we use a card and intercom security door entry system to restrict access to the flats for the safety of our students, and of course, we have an on-site management team and CCTV system to deal with any problems students may encounter.

Cancellation Policy

No Visa No Pay

Prospective international students who have applied to attend a University or a Higher Education Institution in any of the cities in which Homes for Students operates, and who book a room with Homes for Students, will be allowed to be released from their Tenancy Agreement if they do not receive the entry Visa they require for their study in the UK and evidence is provided.

Only new customers who have never lived at a Homes for Students property are eligible.

If a customer does not receive the entry Visa they require for their study in the UK and wishes to be released from their Tenancy Agreement, they must provide Homes for Students with evidence of their refusal of entry to the UK to study no later than 7 days after notification of their refusal.

Evidence can be a copy of the letter from the Home Office, UK Visas and Immigration service or other official Visa issuing body as well as a letter from the university, sponsor or institution where they were supposed to be studying. It must clearly show the student's full name, address and date of issue. This can be emailed to salesenquiries@wearehomesforstudents.com or posted to Homes for Students, 3 Clock Tower Park, Longmoor Lane, Fazakerley, Liverpool, L10 1LD.
Customers who do not apply to be released from their Tenancy Agreement within this timescale will be bound by the terms and conditions set out in the Tenancy Agreement.

No Place No Pay

Prospective first year students who have applied to attend a University or a Higher Education Institution in any of the cities in which Homes for Students operates, and who book a room with Homes for Students, will be allowed to be released from their Tenancy Agreement if, as a result of not achieving the required A-Level, Scottish Higher (or equivalent) results, they do not gain a place at their chosen university and evidence is provided.

Only new customers who have never lived at a Homes for Students property are eligible.

If a customer does not gain a place at their chosen University or College and wishes to be released from their Tenancy Agreement, they must provide Homes for Students with evidence of their rejection and evidence of the reason why (proof of results achieved etc) no later than 3 working days after their results day.

Evidence can be a written rejection letter from the University/College/UCAS, or a screen shot of the customer's UCAS status along with the results etc. This can be emailed to salesenquiries@wearehomesforstudents.com or posted to Homes for Students, Clock Tower Park, Longmoor Lane, Fazakerley, Liverpool, L10 1LD.

Customers who do not apply to be released from their Tenancy Agreement within this timescale and provide the correct evidence will be bound by the terms and conditions set out in the Tenancy Agreement.

Refund Guarantees Time Limit

7 days cooling off period
You can cancel your booking up to 7 days after you accept your offer or pay your deposit, providing you have not already moved in to the property and the apartment will refund your security deposit in full. Deposits will normally be refunded within 28 working days of cancellation, however the legal obligation as a landlord is to secure all deposits with a third party protection scheme. In the event that your deposit has already been sent to the protection scheme by the time you cancel your booking, your refund could take up to 60 days to be refunded due to the protection scheme's processing period and your deposit refund will come directly from them - you will need your repayment ID which will be sent to you directly by the protection scheme. If the deposit has already been sent to the deposit protection scheme, then the apartment is unable to influence their processing time.

2.Out of Initial Cancellation Period
If you cancel your booking after the 7 day Initial Cancellation Period, you will remain liable for the weekly rent (for each and every week or part week) until the apartment is able to re-let the room. If they are able to re-let the room they will release you from the agreement upon payment of a £50 variation of contract fee which they will recover by retaining part or all of your deposit. If you have paid a lower deposit amount, that's the amount that will be retained.

Please enter the Student Portal interface of your apartment, click Review My Offer to enter the contract review interface, click CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE TENANCY AGREEMENT in the lower right corner again or enter the registered email to check the rent payment deadline on the contract. If you need to pay the rent, you can return to the homepage and click Review/Pay Statement to view the details of the payment plan. How to pay rent?

Please enter the Student Portal interface of your apartment, click Review/Pay Statement to enter the payment interface, then tick the items that need to be paid, and click pay to enter the payment interface. The apartment supports online credit card payment (credit card is supported) or bank transfer 1. For online credit card payment, please ensure that the payment card type is one of the following four types: Mastercard/Visa/Visa Debit/Visa Electron. Carefully fill in the cardholder information, and please ensure that the payment card has sufficient credit, and the bank is opened and supports payment behavior. Please note that payment cards do not need to be present in person. 2. For bank remittance, please contact the apartment to obtain the transfer account under the guidance of the consultant, and then complete the corresponding payment in the bank. However, please note that wire transfers can take several business days to arrive, so payment needs to be arranged in advance.

Is an installment purchase possible?

If you have a valid UK guarantor, you can choose to pay the rent in three installments, in September, January and April. If there is no valid UK guarantor, full rent must be paid 1 month before the start of the contract.
