How Much Does It Cost to Study in Sheffield for a Year?

Honestly, students who have studied in Sheffield probably have a feeling. The price of goods in Sheffield is considered very cheap in the UK. Sheffield’s spending will be lower than other areas, whether it’s student accommodation, tuition fees or living expenses. Especially in the London area.

Tuition Fees Cost to Study in Sheffield

Let’s start with the tuition fee because the exchange rate of RMB is constantly changing. So, let’s calculate it in pounds sterling. The tuition fee for my undergraduate degree was 16,000 pounds when I went to study. However, the tuition fee varies from one programme to another, and the tuition fee for medicine is a bit more expensive.

Student Accommodations Cost to Study in Sheffield

When it comes to student accommodation, Sheffield is cheap. Maybe it’s because there are a lot of international students and there is fierce competition. Sheffield is still full of student accommodations. I was living in Sheffield 3, and the environment was quite good. I chose a large six-room En-Suite at £120 per week, which is £5,280 for 44 weeks a year.

Living Costs

Cost of living in Sheffield

If you live in Sheffield, you’ll have to marvel at the cheap living cost. If you cook at home, you can get by less than £50 a week if you buy food and meat. If you buy some snacks, it will be less than £70. However, if you eat out a lot, it will be more expensive. If cheap, it’s about £15 a meal in Sheffield. If you go out to eat twice a week, it’s about 100 pounds a week and about 4,000 pounds a year, which is still an excellent deal.

Tourism Cost to Study in Sheffield

Travelling is more subjective. Whether you like travelling or not, what kind of travelling you do and how long you do it for are all factors that determine how much you spend on travelling. I, a poor traveller, went to France twice, a Netherlands-Belgium-Luxembourg-Germany 10-day trip plus a trip to Iceland, the total cost is about £3,500. Add domestic travel, and you’ll have no problem getting your total spending under £5,000 if you keep it under control.

You can also compare the cost of studying in Coventry or London, and thus you will have a rough plan for studying in the UK.

These are all the expenses for studying at Sheffield, I think. The total is probably around £27,000, which is still relatively cost-effective. However, spending is still different for everyone. It just depends on how you spend it.
