【Real-name Complaint | uhomes.com Consultant Walker, One-Star Warning to Avoid】
I booked an apartment at Maine Tower in London through uhomes.com, and the check-in handover was extremely irresponsible.
During the move-in handover, there was no proactive explanation of the PSP registration process, parcel collection rules, or what each key was for. On the move-in day, no photos of the water and electricity meter readings were provided either, creating a risk that charges left by the previous tenant could be directly added to my bill.
When I moved in, multiple facilities in the room were already damaged: the inside of the washing machine was very dirty and contained debris; the bathroom exhaust fan would not start; and there were large amounts of limescale and stains around the bathtub that had clearly existed before I moved in.
I repeatedly tagged consultant Walker in the group chat to ask about the handover materials and property issues, but my messages went unanswered for a long time. The response was constant delay and avoidance, with only irrelevant emails being forwarded and no real problems resolved. I have already taken photos and videos as complete evidence of all the original defects in the property to prevent my deposit from being deducted for pre-existing issues when I move out.
International students planning to rent in the UK should choose carefully. Basic information that should have been explained at move-in was completely missing, no one followed up on the property facility issues, and subsequent communication and rights protection have been extremely time-consuming and draining.
